About ReqBrief
ReqBrief is an AI-powered web application that interviews a client on your behalf and turns their answers into a structured project brief. It is built for digital agencies and freelance developers who need to know exactly what a client wants before they start building.
Who it's for
ReqBrief is for the people who have to translate a client's idea into working software: digital agencies, freelance developers, and small product studios. These are teams that win or lose money on how well a project is scoped before the first line of code.
The problem it solves is the gap between what a client agreed to and what they actually meant. A vague request (“make it like Airbnb, but for tours”) turns into rework, missed expectations, and scope creep once building starts. ReqBrief closes that gap by getting the real requirements out of the client up front, in writing, before estimates and timelines are committed.
How it works
The product works in three plain steps:
- 1You create a project and share a link. You add what you already know about the project, then send the client a link. The client does not need an account or a login to use it.
- 2The AI conducts the interview. The client opens the link and answers questions one at a time. The AI asks focused follow-ups based on their answers, the way a good project manager would, instead of handing them a static form to fill in.
- 3You get a structured brief. When the interview is done, ReqBrief generates a structured brief: the goal, the target users and their core flow, constraints, what is in and out of scope, and the open questions that still need a decision. You can read it in the dashboard or download it.
What ReqBrief is not
To avoid confusion about where it fits, here is what ReqBrief does not try to be:
- It is not a project management tool. It does not track tasks, sprints, or timelines after the brief is written.
- It is not a contract or proposal generator. The brief captures requirements, not legal terms or pricing.
- It is not a generic chatbot or form builder. The interview is purpose-built to produce one specific output: a project brief.
Why we built it
ReqBrief was built by a developer who kept running into the same problem: the difference between what a client agreed to and what they actually meant. Kickoff calls and intake forms left too much unsaid, and the missing details only surfaced halfway through a build, when they were expensive to fix.
The idea was simple. If a careful, patient interview is what gets the real requirements out of a client, automate that interview so it happens on every project, not just the ones where someone remembered to ask the right questions.
Current status
ReqBrief is live at reqbrief.com and is free during early access. You can create a project and run a real client interview today, in any of the supported languages (English, German, Dutch, French, and Spanish).
