The brief you getbrief.md

Summary

Booking site to replace phone and WhatsApp sales: browse tours, check live availability, and pay online.

Goal

Cut overbooking and manual booking work.

Target user

Repeat travelers booking package tours on mobile.

Open questions

  1. 1Hold bank-transfer seats as pending until confirmed?
  2. 2Are the 800 newsletter contacts GDPR opt-in?

You built what was agreed. They asked for what they meant.

Somewhere past the halfway mark, the client looks at the build and says this should work differently. Or that it was obviously included. You go back to the brief and find one vague sentence that proves both of you right.

The client isn't lying, and you aren't padding the invoice. They described what they could picture, you built what was written down. The gap between the two just became your problem.

Now you pick your loss. Build it free and eat the hours, or invoice the change and watch a good client start reading your emails twice. Every project that begins with a vague brief carries this fight inside it from day one.

None of this gets decided in week three. It gets decided before the project starts.

A better process, powered by AI.

1

Create a project context

Tell ReqBrief what kind of project it is (web app, API, e-commerce) and feed it any early context you already have.

2

Send the interview link

ReqBrief generates a unique URL. No login or friction for your client — they just open it and begin.

3

The AI runs the interview

A senior-PM-style AI asks focused, intelligent questions one at a time. It probes ambiguity and adapts on the fly.

4

Get a structured brief

When finished, you receive a clean brief: goal, target user, user flow, technical notes, and open questions. Ready to estimate.

03

This is what lands in your inbox.

A real brief, generated from a 5-minute AI interview.

Project Brief — Travel Booking Popupbrief.md

Summary

The client wants to add a travel detail popup on their existing booking page that shows destination highlights, pricing breakdown, and an availability calendar before the user commits to checkout.

Goal

Reduce checkout abandonment by giving users confidence about their destination before committing.

Target user

First-time bookers, aged 28–45, browsing on mobile, who hesitate before purchase.

Open questions

  1. 1Does the popup replace the page or overlay it? Confirm: assumed overlay/modal, not redirect.
  2. 2Should the availability calendar be live (API) or static display only?

04

Try it yourself — no signup

What agencies say

Teams use ReqBrief to turn a messy client conversation into a brief they can scope from.

A 30-minute client call turns into a structured brief before the coffee’s cold. It asks the questions I always forget to ask.

Charlotte Pemberton

Agency founder

No more chasing clients for the details they forgot to mention. The interview pins down scope before a single line gets written.

James Whitfield

Project lead

I stopped rewriting vague briefs three times. The client just answers a few questions and the scope writes itself.

Felix Brauer

Freelance designer

Sending a link instead of running a kickoff call saved me hours a week, and the briefs come back sharper than mine ever were.

Maximilian Hoffmann

Studio owner

Clients actually enjoy it — it feels like a conversation, not a 40-field form. And I get a clean scope at the end.

Ethan Calloway

Web agency

The open-questions section alone is worth it. It surfaces the gaps I’d otherwise discover halfway through the build.

Product consultant

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers. Email us if anything's missing.

How long does the interview take?
About 5–10 minutes. The AI adapts to your client's answers, so the more they share, the deeper it goes — without ever feeling like a form.
Do my clients need to create an account?
No. You generate a unique link and send it to them. They click, type, and they're done. Nothing to install, no login screen.
What kinds of projects does ReqBrief support?
ReqBrief is requirement gathering software for agencies and freelancers, so it handles anything you typically scope: websites, web apps, mobile apps, e-commerce, APIs, design systems, and dashboards. The AI tailors its questions to the project type you select.
Can I use my own branding?
Yes. Upload your logo, pick an accent color, and set your agency name — your client's interview page and the exported PDF brief then carry your brand. You can even hide the ReqBrief badge for a fully white-label experience.
Which languages does ReqBrief support?
Five today: English, German, Dutch, French, and Spanish. Your client's interview happens in their language, and the final brief is written in yours.
Where is my data stored?
All projects and interview transcripts live in a secure, encrypted database. You can delete a project — or your entire account — anytime, and it's permanently removed.
How much does it cost?
ReqBrief is free during early access. Once we exit beta, ReqBrief moves to a paid monthly subscription — early-access users will be notified in advance and get preferential pricing.
