How it works
From client link to structured brief
ReqBrief replaces the intake form and the kickoff archaeology with a short, AI-led interview, and writes the brief for you at the end.
The five steps
- 1
Create a project
Give the project a name and type, add any context or files you already have, and (optionally) attach the client it belongs to so past context carries over.
- 2
Send your client a link
ReqBrief generates a private interview link. Your client opens it in any browser (no account, no install) and answers in their own time. The interview page can carry your logo and colors, so it reads as your process, not a third-party tool.
- 3
The AI runs the interview
One question at a time, the AI asks about goals, audience, constraints, success criteria, timeline and budget, following up automatically whenever an answer is vague.
- 4
You get a structured brief
When the interview wraps, ReqBrief generates a clean, structured project brief you can scope, quote, and share. Edit it in place, export it as a branded PDF or Markdown, and you are notified by email when it is ready.
- 5
Turn the brief into a kickoff plan
One click breaks the brief down into concrete tasks, each tagged with the expertise it needs (design, frontend, backend, QA and more) and an honest hour-range estimate, with totals per discipline. Edit the tasks, then plan or quote from them.
What makes the brief good
Adaptive questioning
The interview reacts to each answer and probes anything unclear, not a fixed form.
One question at a time
Clients face a conversation, not a wall of fields, so they actually finish it.
Shared client context
Repeat work for the same client asks fewer questions because background carries over.
Speaks your client’s language
Interviews and briefs adapt to the language you work in.
Files for extra context
Attach PDFs or images and the relevant detail feeds into the interview.
Your branding, not ours
Add your logo, accent color and agency name. The client interview and the PDF brief carry your brand, and you can hide ReqBrief’s badge entirely.
Edit before you share
The brief is yours: refine any section in place before it goes to the client or your team.
Briefs you can take anywhere
Download the brief as a branded PDF or Markdown, or paste it into your existing tools.
AI task breakdown
Turn any brief into a kickoff plan: tasks grouped by expertise, each with an hour-range estimate you can sanity-check before quoting.
Common questions
How long does the interview take a client?
Most clients finish in around 10–15 minutes. Because questions come one at a time and adapt to answers, it feels lighter than a long form even though it captures more.
Do clients need to sign up or install anything?
No. They open a link and answer in their browser on any device. There is nothing to download and no account to create.
Can I review or edit the brief?
Yes. The generated brief is yours to review and edit directly in ReqBrief, then download as a branded PDF or Markdown before you share it or scope from it.
Can I put my own branding on the client experience?
Yes. Upload your logo, pick an accent color and set your agency name. The client’s interview page and the exported PDF brief then carry your brand. You can also hide the "Powered by ReqBrief" badge for a fully white-label experience.
What kinds of projects does it work for?
Websites, campaigns, software builds and more. The interview adapts to the project type and context you set, so it asks about what matters for that work.
Can ReqBrief break the brief down into tasks?
Yes. On any project with a finished brief, one click generates a kickoff plan: 12-25 concrete tasks grouped by expertise (design, frontend, backend, QA and more), each with an hour-range estimate and totals per discipline. You can edit or delete tasks before you plan from them.
